If you want to learn the history of Vermont, that's the place to go. Lots of very interesting infos about the early years of the state and how was the life back in the 18th-19th century in Vermont. The staff is very kind and helpful. Higly recommand!
If membership was less expensive, I would join as an out of state supporter. Do not miss this museum & Montpelier.
(Make sure to read some of the notes left in the telegram exhibit. Schools come by often and have their kids write adorable letters to their future ancestors!)
While educational, it lacks the crafted stories coupled with relevant artifacts that make a good museum great. Instead, it has questionably historic items tangentially related to each other and their accompanying fun-facts. Even their placards raise concerns of their authenticity in multiple locations!
Delightful, professionally prepared, family friendly museum. Inexpensive admission.
Building was beautiful inside. Alot to see.
However, it's remarkably balenced in it's retellings. The stories on display here call into question the good and bad of Vermont's history. The surprising nuggets of info here make it a worthwhile visit to a history interested tourist.
What a fine way to learn the history of this great state. The museum is a a charming and complete experience.
Handicapped access!
Some interactive, child friendly displays. If you are a tourist- highly recommended.
