This is an attitude and service review. Food was OK. Walked in, moderately crowded, three open seats at the counter, my husband and I went to take 2 of them. No dirty dishes or anything to indicate they weren't open. We were then told by a waitress who breezed by that we weren't allowed to sit there without being seated by the hostess. It went downhill from there. We were eventually seated and promptly ignored for 10 - 12 minutes before getting water while everyone around us was getting service. Gluten free biscuit was decent. We were looking forward to coffee after eating but the negative attitude convinced us that we should spend our money elsewhere. We did share our comments when asked by the floor manager who was very receptive. If you mind feeling like you're in their way while you spend your money go somewhere else.
(Update summer/fall 2017) For whatever reason, the one menu item I truly cared about (biscuits and gravy) has had a serious change in recipe to the point that after trying it a second time, it's terrible. Tastes nothing like it did before. Such a disappointment.
A week ago. ...A great place to get southern style food. ..( close to it). The organic greens were great, only received one small piece of catfish- (they could increase the serving size). Other than that the food was great. The service was a little slow due to the restraunt being so crowded but they made up for it with the food. It was definitely worth the wait. The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming!!! Great place to visit would definitely recommend. Job well done to the owner !!! :-)
I know that the concept of sausage gravy and biscuits is anathema to my friends from the UK, but if I can learn the deliciousness of Mushy Peas, you guys can learn to love this dish. Or don't, it leaves more for me...And the Sausage gravy with biscuits here was a delight. Seriously.
Great food, pretty decent prices. The best biscuits and gravy around here. Our last visit is was busy. We waited over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. It was not as bad previously. Staff are friendly and don't pester.
Great location down town Montpellier, light, airy decor with a comfortable atmosphere. Good food at a reasonable rate. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend...serves breakfast and dinner all day...enjoy!
This little cafe was a great sport on our Vermont trek. Served with a smile, lots of great townie talk around us, and a great cup of coffee. Going to check them out for a lunch of dinner next time through!
